Five days of Immersion in the PI World 2019
It was PI World largest attendance to date and featured visitors from a variety of industries and OSIsoft partners.
After five days of immersion in the PI World, Radix engineers and representatives head back to the office with an overabundance of knowledge, innovative ideas developed, and new connections with colleagues in the field made. From day one, the conference was jam-packed with learning through industry specific tracks, PI systems presentations, partner and product expo, hands-on training labs, and networking events.
According to Travis Comer, Radix Process Engineer, it was a great balance between the content of the agenda and enough time to network.
“We were able to share details and results from many of our projects to potential clients that are trying to make the best use of their PI data. We had a lot of questions around implementing the latest in industry techniques such as Artificial Intelligence, Predictive Maintenance and Quality, and other advanced analytics. We were able to share and learn from other companies regarding how to address common problems in data standardization, interfacing, and consolidation to a self-service location. Overall, I think we gained a lot of insight and new clients from our visit this year,” says the engineer.
On Wednesday, April 10th, Radix Program Manager, Justin Conroy, led a presentation with Patrick Gobetti, NEXA Resources IT Manager, on “PI System as a Foundation for the Implementation of Industry 4.0.” NEXA is a large-scale metal mining company in South America that has partnered with Radix to support them throughout their digital transformation journey with PI System improvements. “It was a great honor to support Patrick’s presentation,” compliments Conroy at the closing of the presentation. “I am excited to see NEXA Resources tackle some of the highest value process improvement opportunities identified as a result of their PI System enhancements.”
