The Alumni Association aimed to foster professional integration between different sectors of engineering, technology, defense, and business.
Chachamovitz participated in the Oil & Gas panel along with IME allumni Armando Henriques, Angra Energy Partners CEO; Jose Formigli, Forsea Enganharia President; Orlando Ribeiro, Petrobras Executive Managing Director; and Marcelo Araújo, Ipiranga CEO.
André Pinto, Boston Consulting Group Specialist, mediated the panel that discussed current and future challenges in the Oil & Gas industry. The main topics were around the 2014 oil crisis and the impact of major investment companies exiting Brazil, pre-salt, the risk of oil scarcity, the new demands of the sector, and the application of new technologies in the Oil & Gas sector.
“It’s very important to pay close attention throughout the history of the O&G Industry. In doing so, we can identify at what points we made mistakes and failed to develop the industry to its full potential. This analysis is crucial for us to learn with past experiences and recognize future opportunities. For instance, we are living a moment of cutting-edge technology in Brazil, which can be greatly applied to boost engineering processes”, explained Chachamovitz at the event.
